Ceiling Fans – All About Your Fantasia Ceiling Fan
Why buy a Fantasia ceiling fan?
Fantasia ceiling fans are some of the highest quality decorative ceiling fans available which, combined with their luxurious appearance, makes them a very popular choice for homeowners who want a ceiling fan that is practical and functional, but looks good too.
The silicon steel motors inside Fantasia fans are larger than most, leading to an increased air movement for an extra cooling effect. The motors also have doubled sealed bearings which not only makes them more durable and longer-lasting, but also reduces noise too.
The metal finishes on Fantasia ceiling fans are also double lacquered which prevents tarnishing, ensuring that they stay looking great for longer. All of our Fantasia decorative ceiling fans come with a 10 year warranty.
All models of Fantasia fans operate on a 230V / 50 cycle electrical supply, with a maximum power rating of between 60 and 75 Watts for the fan motors. They are all fully tested to British Safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do ceiling fans require special wiring?
No, our Fantasia ceiling fans are quick and easy to install, with full instructions included with your purchase – if in doubt over the fitting, contact a qualified electrician.
What size fan should I choose?
For a room with a standard 8ft height, we recommend the following fan sizes:
Up to 12ft x 12ft – 36” fan
Up to 12ft x 14ft – 42” fan
Up to 15ft x 15ft – 52” fan
Over 15ft x 15ft – we recommend installing two fans
If you plan to install your ceiling fan in a conservatory or a south-room however we recommend you choose the next size up, to compensate for the increased temperature of this area.
Are the fans very noisy?
Some ceiling fans can be noisy, however Fantasia fans are made to a superior quality that means that even when fitted with a drop rod they will not wobble. The double sealed bearings in the motor also lead to a quiet and smooth operation.
Can I add a light to my fan at a later date?
All Fantasia ceiling fans are adaptable, allowing you to fit a light at any time – simply follow the manufacturer’s instructions to install.
Will the fan require cleaning and maintenance?
Thanks to the double lacquered surfaces and permanently sealed bearings, Fantasia fans require very little maintenance. A occasional dusting with a soft cloth and a yearly check of the fixings is all that is needed – if you discover any loose fixings these should be tightened.
How is the speed of the fan controlled?
The majority of Fantasia ceiling fans are fitted with a pull switch to operate the three forward and three reverse speeds. The Odyssey, Viper and eMotion fans come with a remote control instead. The reverse spin should be used to release warm air trapped by the ceiling.
Can the fans be operated via a wall control?
Fantasia ceiling fans can either be operated via a single wall control for fans without lights, or a double control-dimmer for ceiling fans with lights. A standard dimmer switch can’t be used to control the fan speed.
How much does it cost to run a ceiling fan?
All Fantasia ceiling fans run off a standard, 5 Amp lighting circuit and are very cheap to run, costing approximately 5p for every 8 hours of use at full speed – that’s cheaper than a 100Watt light bulb!
How high does the fan need to be mounted?
According to the British Standards Institute, it is recommended that the blades are at least 7ft6” above floor level.
What size drop rod do I need to fit the fan in a conservatory or high ceiling?
The drop rod length required depends on the height of the ceiling. It is best to fit the fan between 7ft 6” and 9ft off the floor. Flush mounted fans will require a fan conversion kit to fit a drop rod.
Can I install a fan on a sloped ceiling?
Fans can be installed up to an angle of 40 degrees so long as there is at least 6” between the tip of the blade and the ceiling or other obstruction.
Can I install a fan in any room?
It is not recommended to install a ceiling fan in the bathroom – any other domestic room is okay.
