Q. Martin, Thank you for your prompt reply. Please could you advise your current delivery time for the INFP-KIT [The Infinite Prime Wireless Burglar Alarm System With Texecom Odyssey Bell Box]? Would it be possible to substitute the Texecom Odyssey Bell Box for the AG6 Activeguard Bellbox? If so what would the price be? regards Ian

Hi Ian

We normally have good stocks of all of the Infinite and Texecom products, I’ll get one of the people in the despatch department to confirm it in the morning for you, I work from home.

Martin

Q. Wireless alarm sytem. Are the batteries which power the PIR's, door contacts and external siren monitored? If not is there a means of knowing when the are approaching a failure state

Yes the Infinite burglar alarm detectors are monitored.  When the batteries start to run low there will be an indication given at the main control panel.

Q. Dear Sirs, Please could you advise if the Intellisense AG6 Activeguard Bellbox[Code AG6ALERT] is suitable for use with the Infinite wirefree external sounder module [Code INF-WSM]?

Dear Ian

Yes the AG6 Activeguard Bellbox will be compatible with the INF-WSM Infinite wirefree external sounder module.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Q. The wirefree Alarm kit and other relevant items I have ordered, does it includes the appropriate batteries? If not please supply the neccessary batteries it takes. Thank you, Regards Dhanji Mepani

Hi Dhanji

Yes the INFP-KIT wireless alarm kit and all of the accessories in the range includes all of the batteries necessary.

Q. Can you explain the difference between the INFP-KITWES and the INF-KITWES. Do you sell a dummy box to match. Can the main box be used to control the alarm or will I need a key pad as well?

Hi Neil

The difference between the INFP-KITWES and the INF-KITWES is that the INF-KITWES has the standard Infinite wireless control panel and the INFP-KITWES has the Infinite Prime control panel which includes a built in telephone autodialler.  Both control panels can be controlled from the main panel without the need to purchase further remote keypads.

Q. Hi, Is it possible to hardwire an external sounder to the ESP Infinite Prime? Many Thanks

Yes it is.  Using the INF-WSM you can link most common bellboxes to the Infinite wireless alarm system.

Q. I live in an old cottage with very thick solid walls. I need to install a wireless burglar alarm with 2 sensors but i'm worried the signal will struggle with the thickness of the walls as my cordless phone often does. Can you recomend a suitable alarm. Ideally i'd like one that alerts my mobile phone when it is triggered. Many thanks. Sam.

Hi Sam

The Infinite wireless control panel comes with its own signal strength meter.  When you install your detectors you will be able to measure the signal strength.  At this point, if the control panel is showing that the signal is weak, you can choose to purchase a range extender.  I should point out that it would be best to purchase the standard system first and see what the signal strength is like as in most cases the signal strength without the range extender is sufficient.

Q. I can do DIY but I don't feel up to fitting a alarm with wires everywhere. Will I be able to fit your Infinite Wireless alarm instead?

Provided that you can provide a 13a socket for the control panel (or better still wire it in using a unswitched connection unit) and the external sounder there is no other wiring to do. The programming of the control panel is menu driven using simple yes and no answers.

Q. Can I use the Infinite Wireless alarm system with my pets in the house?

Yes you have two choices. If your pet is under 50lbs you can fit the animal immune PIR detectors. If it is over 50lbs you can connect magentic contacts around your home to protect the perimeter while the pet is free to use the inside.

Q. Can it (The Infinite Wireless Alarm)telephone me if it goes off when I am not at home?

Again you have two choices. You can connect the INF-COMMS unit which will dial out utilising an existing phone line within the house. You can also connect the INF-GSM which will turn the panel effectively into a mobile phone. This will also allow the facility to remotely arm or dis-arm the panel from anywhere in the world (NB You will need to obtain a SIM card to use this facility). This will also allow the remote control of any INF-HA devices linked to the control panel.

Q. Is the panel (Infinite wireless control panel) big enough for my needs?

The control panel has 32 zones, big enough to have one zone dedicated to each wireless device. If there are any other detection devices that you would like to fit then the panel also has a traditional hard wired zone for this purpose.

Q. What is the range of the signal between the control panel (Infinite wireless) and the wireless devices and also will the alarm be set off by ambulances and taxis passing my house?

Wireless systems have come on a long way since they were first launched. The Infinite uses 868Mhz FM to create a strong clear signal for up to 200m in free air, or approximately 90m through walls depending on conditions. The control panel has a signal strength indicator allowing easy determination of these factors. The FM transmitters within the system have high security data encryption making use of a rolling code facility which makes the chances of any other transmitters accidently using the frequency highly unlikely, in the ratio of 1,000 000s:1.

Q. How long do the batteries last in the detectors (Infinite Wireless)?

The batteries supplied in the detectors are 3.6v lithium batteries. They will last for 4 years of continuous use. At the end of that period we will be able to supply replacements.

Q. Does the INFINITE WIRE FREE INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEM (INF-KIT) include the INF-COMMS kit or is it extra and at what price?

The Inf-comms unit is a chargeable extra. It is very easy to install, it plugs into the printed circuit board inside the Infinite control panel.

Q. Are the Contact Transmitter (INF-MAG) and the smoke Detector (INF-SMOKE) completely wireless?

Yes they are both completely wireless, as are all of the detectors in the Infinite Wireless Burglar Alarm system. The only cables (or wires) in the system are; The power cable to keep the control panel powered, it would not be acceptable for the control panel to be powered by batteries and the batteries fail. The external bellbox (Or sounder) is a standard bellbox and requires a small amount of cable to connect it with the INF-WSM. This can be sited close to the bellbox where it will provide power to the bellbox (it needs wiring to the mains) and will communicate with the control panel wirelessly. This means that the bellbox will be permanently powered so no need to get a ladder out to change batteries, it will always function at full capacity, because it is not solar, but there is still no requirement to have to run a cable from the control panel to the bellbox for the bellbox to work unlike 99% of the competition.

Q. For X10 home automation do I only need INF-HA modules or do I also need some module which will be between the main alarm system and the mains as well?

The INF-HA works by transmitting and receiving through the live phase of the existing power supply. Provided that the Infinite control panel (that has the INF-HA plugged in to it) is wired to the same 230/240v supply as the remote devices then that is all that is required; To make use of the INF-HA system in the Infinite panel it is necessary to purchase the following:1 x INF-HA As many remote modules as you require depending on what you would like to control, 1 module per appliance.

Q. I understand the Remote eternal sounder module(INF-WSM) and a bell is included in the above package (INF-KIT)?

Yes the kit is complete and ready to install. It has been designed to suite the market in Great Britain where it is the norm to install an external sounder to serve as warning and as a visual deterrant againt the opportunist burglar. If this is not required then the INF-KIT2 which is the kit before we add the WSM & external sounder. In this instance it would be necessary to purchase an INF-COMMS telephone autodialler to serve as the main means of warning the owners of the property that the Infinite system is in alarm.

Q. The Infinite Control Panel does not have a terminal block connection for the earth wire in the 1 mm 6242Y AC cable. However it does have an earth position marked on the circuit board next to a hole in the board.

It is not necessary to earth the Infinite control panel the printed circuit board has it marked, but because it is not required, a terminal has not been provided.

Q. I have a requirement to add a sounder into a remote garage covered by the Infinite wireless alarm system as well as a wireless sounder on the front of the house, is this possible?

Yes it is possible to run two WSM modules off of one Infinite panel, allowing the use of two sounders in different locations.

Q. I want a single Infinite security alarm system for my house and my garage. The garage is about 100 yards away behind trees. Is there some sort of repeater that will extend the range of the wireless devices

Yes there is an Infinite Repeater available here

Infinite Repeater

.

Q. Is it possible to part set the 'ESP Infinite' burglar alarm system?

The ESP Infinite control panel has full, part and perimeter set arming facilities available.

Q. Problems registering my Infinite WSM

Thank you for forwarding the attached e-mail to ESP Ltd, and my subsequent telephone conversation from Andy in their technical department, who clarified the WSM registration procedure must be undertaken within 7 secs.  I duly carried out his instructions over the weekend and am pleased to confirm was successful. I now have a fully working Infinite alarm and I am planning which additional components to add to the alarm to maximise the systems potential.

I have an Infinite prime control panel , a Texecom Odyssey sounder and an INF wireless module. My understanding of the instructions is that i connect the wireless module and the sounder to the one site of the house lets say and the controller is communicating wireless with them right?Do you have some more specific instructions for the whole package because the individual instructions are confusing since they mention a lot of other models?
