Q. Choosing the right fly killer
We have three different types of flykiller featured on our website and this page is to help you decide exactly which type is most suitable for your application.
If you are looking for a professional quality flykiller for a commercial situation, a metal flykiller is the most suitable (see Firefly). The next thing to consider is the size of the room in which the unit will be installed. The following guidelines should help:
Firefly 1500 covers: 50m2
Firefly 3000 covers: 80m2
Firefly 6000 covers: 120m2
How the unit is to be mounted is also a factor. Some units are floor standing, wall mounted or ceiling mounted. Both the 1500 and the 3000 are wall mounted, but the 6000 is ceiling mounted.
For smaller commercial applications or domestic use, a light-duty plastic flykiller would be suitable (see Z-range). All models in this range are floor standing or ceiling mounted and cover the following areas:
Z11 covers: 25m2Z15 covers: 35m2
Z40 covers: 100m2
Q. I''m after a multi funciton tester for domestic electrical work. Can you please advise between the Fluke 1653, Megger 1553 and Alphatek? I''ve spoke to various electrician but there''s no concensus as to what''s best. Alan
Hi Alan
As I havnt actually worked with the meters I am not qualified to tell you from hands on experience but I can tell you that the Alphatek Metrels, Mi3100 and Mi3101 are the most current meters out there with a range of very up to date features that I think the other manufacturers will be racing to follow. You should find the prices on either meter are very competitive against the rest of the market at the moment as well.
I hope that helps a bit, thank you for your enquiry.
Kind Regards
Martin Randall
