WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulation 2006
Q. What should I do about returning goods for recycling?
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
As a distributor of EEE (Electrical and Electronic Equipment) it is the duty of alertelectrical.com to 'Take back' WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) from private households (Not businesses) on an 'Old for New' basis. We will do this provided that:
- It is directly equivelant to the product purchased
- It has fulfilled the same function as the supplied equipment
- The invoice for the new products is included with the WEEE
- A returns number is obtained in accordance with the alertelectrical.com returns procedures
The cost of returning the WEEE should be borne by the person returning the item to alertelectrical.com for recycling.Waste Batteries and Accumulators Directive
Waste Batteries And Accumulators Regulations
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, Alert Electrical Wholesalers Ltd are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises in person (please do not post).
Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at http://www.recycle-more.co.uk .
Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may alos set up collection points. End users may find stores in their local areas more accessible.
