By far our most popular system in bathrooms, for its flexibility in covering any shape and size of room. Like the cable mat, it can be laid onto existing floors & covered by tile adhesive, but comes as one length of cable which is layed out and run into any shaped room or area. Cable kits can be used in any room, no matter how irregular the shape.

In order to select the correct kit size, you must first measure the free floor area of the room. When calculating the size, please remember to exclude the area taken up by any fixed objects such as baths, showers, kitchen units etc.  For larger areas than those detailed on the chart please contact us for further information.

 

 

Sizing The Cable

 

First decide the wattage per sq metre for the room.  What are your options?

Conservatory with concrete sub floor for primary heating	150 w/m² (Cable kits only)
Internal room with concrete sub floor for primary heating	140-150 w/m²
Concrete sub floor for back ground heating	120 - 130 w/m²
Timber sub floor for primary heating	120 - 130 w/m²
Timber sub floor for background heating	100 - 120 w/m²

 

These should be used as a general guide to size a system, whether or not Marmox boards are to be used.  Take the floor area to be heated, exclude the area of floor under units or sanitary ware and multiply by the w/m² above.

 

e.g. Bathroom with timber sub-floor for primary heating:-

Overall area 4.59m² - 2.17m²  for bath and shower tray = 2.42m²
2.42m² x 130w/m² = 314.6w. 

Round up to the nearest size kit which is the TPC350 kit.
