  Had this shower installed for 18 Months and all seemed well, until today. Whilst my daughter was taking her daily shower, It suddenly stopped and the acrid smell of electrical burning plumed out from the installation point. We quickly switched the electricity off as whatever was happening didn't trip the circuit breaker. I opened the access point to the remote unit and found it ablaze. The Plastic casing was on fire and was melting and dripping down from above. Up until today I considered this a great shower, but now I would warn anyone to be very cautious when considering this product. Had we not known how to access or where the remote box was installed, I suspect my house would have burnt down! ALERT RESPONSE: Your consumer unit is there to provide protection against overload and current 17th edition regulations dictate that an earth leakage device is also fitted. If both of these devices were present and functioning correctly the electricity supply would have cut out as soon as any electricity short was sensed and the subsequent current overload would have also been stopped. This is a very serious malfunction that we will pass on to Triton, you should also urgently get your consumer checked by a qualified electrician. If you purchased the shower within the last 2 years it will still be under Triton warranty that includes engineer callout.
