  Having had consistent false triggers with a 20yr old PIR I bought a Pyronix KX15DQ. same problem. replaced wiring back to control box. same problem. Thought of going to a dual tech device at £25 + , but thought I would try the quad 210EN at £6.43. so far absolutely no problems. Will definitely go for this in future for standard application, although I bought some Optex RX-40QZ(E) from somewhere else (which Alert do not stock), which arrived 1 month later! I wanted to try the optex as have had v good service out of their IR Beams, in harsh application in order to test their quad zone pir, but have had no need to at the moment. The 210EN makes no provision for line resistors or EOL, but it is the basic unit that matters. Alert goods came the next day and would always be my first port of call for Alarm equipment. I particularly like the fact that they show what stock they are holding

• ****Pet tolerance does not work

  I am disatisfied with this unit - I bought it so I can let my cat (about 8kg), can roam around freely without setting the alarm as claimed by the literature. Well, it does not work - as soon as my cat moves the alarm triggers on. I can't be bothered to return the unit for all the hassle it involves and Alert Electrical say if the package is open and cannot be as original - how can one do that without opening the package and install it and test it for purpose! I won't buy it again - sorry. The service is good from Alert - no complaint there, all items ordered arrived asa promised ok.

  Alert: Have you set the pulse count to the least sensitive level, this will help with false alarms
