The latest range of products from ADE Optima is just as reliable and simple to use as their products that are already installed in at least three million homes throughout the United Kingdom.
As well as this, the new range can provide enhanced external lighting control and fire detection capabilities, meeting BS4737 standards and CE specification directives.
Features
Eight Zones
Each zone is identified separately on the key pad, providing plenty of security detection for the majority of domestic properties.
Three Part Set Programs
Three different programmed setting levels are allowed, depending on factors such as the people in the property and the protection level required. An example setting could be the time set to night, with switched off detectors upstairs, and switched on perimeter detectors.
Easy Set Readers Aid Intuitive Operation
As many as four attractive readers can be used to unset and set the system, by way of proximity keyfobs. Its ease of use makes it perfect for the young, the elderly, or the infirm (for more information, see below).
Personal Attack Capability
An unlimited amount of PA buttons can be set for an emergency, to set off the system. With remote keypads, additional PA capability is offered.
Added Flexibility From Remote Keypads
As many as four keypads, compact and slimline, can activate the system from all parts of the user's property (for more information, see below).
Six Digital Outputs
For wired in digital communication, Dialler or RedCare STU. In this way the system is allowed to talk to Alarm Receiving Centres, leading to police response (this is not in place on the Optima Compact G4 device).
Input For Push Set Switches Or Remote Key Switch
It is possible to use a remote key switch or push button (such as a door bell) to set the system, or unset it.
Fire Zone
An unlimited amount of zones can be programmed to be Fire Zones. Two different types of fire zone are available to users:
Standard Fire
This operates only when the system is set;
Twenty Four Hour
Twenty four hour fire zones operate at all times.
Lighting Control Features
Because of the compatability of the G4 range with the ADE lighting controller, full automatic control and manual control over lighting is possible.
Duress Code
The duress code is a second code, allowing users to unset their alarms under threat of force, sending a communication to the Alarm Receiving Centre.
Chime
A chime is used for low security alarms in different parts of a property, working if a main alarm is switched off. If a detector ends up being triggered, or if a door happens to become opened in an area which has been set to use the chime option, you will be alerted by a low-level doorbell chime or 'bing-bong' noise from the control panel. This sound is perfect for parts of a property where children might get into dangerous situations.
Service Timer
Your alarm should be periodically maintained, and the most appropriate times are highlighted by this timer and warning system. This will not get in the way, in any way, with daily system operations, nor with any of the abilities of the system.
In-built Tampering Control
This protects detectors and wiring inside the alarm system from any access that is unauthorised. This includes the covers of remote keypads and control panel.
Changing Bell Time
First, press program, then input engineer code. Secondly, press Number 7 followed by Number 1 Bell Time and input in minutes. Next, press either Set or Tick. Press the Reset button to exit the program.
Please note, this control panel requires a lead acid back up battery, minimum 2.1ah see below, which should be purchased separately.
Connecting To An AG6/8 Active Guard Bell Box
In response to recent feedback, when connecting to an Active Guard AG6 or AG8 bell box the connections are:
| ADE G4 Control Panel | D | A | B | Strobe - | T |
| AG6/8 Active Guard Bell Box | V + | V - | SW | ST - | R - |

Nice panel; easy to install but the instructions need to be a little more clear. Also fitted LCD remote key pad which works well with good functionality. I used the Optima to repalce an existing hard wired panel that had failed.

Great service and easy to install in place of an old panel.

I can only echo what everyone else has said i.e. the internal speaker is too quiet whilst entry/exit beeping and the instructions could have been clearer (a good job I'd wired alarm panels previously), but otherwise it does the job for a fair price.

Excellent product which provides everything that anyone could possibly wish for. Very easy to install. Programming is easy, once you learn the sequence logic. The only criticism would be that there is sometimes no evidence that you have actually entered the correct codes that you intended to enter , and the only way to be sure is to test it out. But otherwise, the system is extremely versatile - I use it for door chime, an external gate chime, as a fire alam, as a panic alarm and to monitor a safe, as well as all the normal intruder alarm functions. There are three programmes to enable for instance a day-setting (chimes, fire, panic, safe set), a night setting (all the above plus downstairs set) and an away setting (everything set). It is difficult to justify spending more money on anything else. Keypads and remote controls are available as add-ons. Technically, there is no connection to a telephone dialler, but in fact, while the circuitry is there, it appears that the connector blocks have not been soldered into place, which would be easy to do. However, it would be wise to check with Honeywell that the firmware would recognise them first ! Twenty years ago, I installed an Optima XM which I replaced ten years later with something with more features. That lasted five years before it failed, and I had to re-install the old Optima again ! It soldiered on fine until I decided to upgrade to something with more features again, so I was pleased to be able to chose another Optima which I am confident will be as reliable as the old Optima which still works as well as when it was new twenty years ago.

Very easy to install as a replacement for a failed 'no make' panel. Only dissapointment is the internal speaker - it is too quiet to hear the entry & exit beeps at more than 2 feet away. Otherwise all works well.

This was a replacement for an old Optima 4 panel so the logic wasn,t a problem. It would however have been useful if the instructions had made clear that unused zones needed to be bridged to cut them out. See B.Healy comment.

Very pleased with ADE Optima Burglar Alarm Panel working great, but the manual that comes with it is not user friendly I had problems omitting 3 zones that I was not using before it would work, in the end I had to phone Honeywell.
