Have used many of these and found them to be great for the money, look good and work well. The negative comments stem from lack of experience with the products in general. As for the last comment, Strobe + has not been used for many years with most suppliers.

I had the same problem as "Patrick" with the G4 control panel! I am starting out in business and if thats not hard enough you give out instructions with no earthly purpose what so-ever! I was going to start and promote this brand, but not now!!!!!!! As PATRICK pointed out, it makes the alarm neither use nor orniment! Also with the fix that is posted above, there is no B-ve, just a B! Also there is no T-ve, just a T that has a link to B!!! If B-ve is B and T-ve is T, does the link have to be removed?????????? Another frustrated Customer!!!!!!!!!! Alert Electrical Response: Dear Barry. We are trying to contact you by telephone but in the mean time we have posted up the latest instructions supplied by the manufacturers technical department at the bottom of the description. Please accept our apologies.

  • ****Accenta g4 and ag6 bell box

By Sammy on 08th Apr 2013

hi , i recently had the accenta g4 and ag6 box installed , according to the engineers ,the wiring on the bell box to the control panel are different or do not correspond? i do beleive they did overcome this issue , however after now occupying the property were are now experiencing faults in a certain zone after setting the system and returning to the property , any advice accepted ,,thankyou.

Alert Response: It sounds like the engineers managed to wire the panel to bellbox correctly but there is a fault on the individual zone.  If they hadnt the system would not set properly.  For reference here are the wiring instructions we place on all of the ADE G4 pages on www.alertelectrical.com:

When connecting to an Active Guard AG6 or AG8 bell box the connections are:

    ADE G4 Control Panel D A B Strobe - T
    AG6/8 Active Guard Bell Box V + V - SW ST - R -

You can omit the zone which will allow the rest of the system to arm and prove where the fault is.  The engineers then need to rectify the fault on the zone.

I have just installed ths for a client. I admit that the wiring instructions in Activeguard AG6 package are not very explicit, but after a bit of careful thought can be followed through. The tamper switch in the lid can be a bit temper mental which will lead to 'tamper lockout' on the panel. If you confirm the tamper circuit on the zones with a meter, then you can isolate the tamper fault to the AG6. I would recommend the ADE AG8 panel as it has more features for the slight extra cost.

  • ****Six into five doesnt work!

By John Galpin on 08th Apr 2013

On the control panel and its instructions there are six wires required to connect to the bellbox. In the bellbox itself there are only five terminals! What am I supposed to do with the one marked Strobe+ on the control panel which seems to have no equivalent in the bellbox?
