Combined Security Camera Floodlight System

GuardCam is a complete all-in-one PIR floodlight, camera, speaker and DVR system. Simply connect to mains power, fix to wall and the built in DVR will record straight to the SD card supplied for complete peace of mind. Available with either 230w Grade C halogen lamp or 11w LED lamps with 40,000 hours rated life.  The extra cost of the more eco friendly LED light fitting would soon be recouped through reduced electricity use of 11w compared to 230w.

1. Eco friendly Grade C 230w halogen lamp or 11w LEDs
GuardCam is supplied with a low energy Grade C halogen lamp offering an equivalent to older Grade D lamps with lower running costs.  Guardcam LED is supplied with 11w LEDs rated at 40,000 hours average life.

2. High resolution digital camera
GuardCam’s integral camera offers clear image recording in video or still frame format. Night images retain colour and clarity due to automatic halogen light illumination.

3. Built in DVR records directly to 2Gb SD card
Up to 750, twenty second video sessions or 1500 still images are recorded onto the supplied 2GB SD card. Oldest Images are deleted and overwritten as the card reaches capacity ensuring recent events are always available.

4. Time and date setting
A simple set up procedure will allow you to input the exact year, month, day and time that will remain within GuardCam ready to be applied to all recordings. In the event of mains power failure internal back up batteries ensure the settings are not lost.

5. Easy replay on Windows Media Player
GuardCam comes complete with an SD to USB converter. Simply remove the SD card from GuardCam insert into the converter and plug into your PCs USB port. The recorded images can then be launched and stored using Windows
Media Player or any other suitable media software.

6. PIR motion detector with integral photocell
GuardCam detects the presence of intruders with proven PIR (passive infra red) technology at a distance of up to 12 metres from the unit. A photocell is employed to ensure activation is restricted to day or night operation at the users discretion.

7. PIR sensitivity and time control
GuardCams PIR can be adjusted to provide the best coverage whilst avoiding false triggers from passing traffic, animals etc. The time control adjusts how long the halogen light will remain activated after the first trigger.

8. Audible alert speaker with choice of 3 warnings
GuardCam has the option to deliver one of three messages upon activation. "Warning you are tresspasing", "Warning you are being captured on video" and finally a barking dog (more effective than you may think). Theres also the option to have no voice alert.

9. 3 mode selection
Mode selection allows the user to choose the most suitable combination of GuardCam’s functions. Light plus video at night, sound plus video in the day etc.

10. Secure waterproof recording control panel
The important SD card and time date controls are secured behind a waterproof door only opened with the supplied allen key.

  My nephew who is an electrician helped me with the wiring though the set up doesn't need anyone electrical. I would be happier if the unit had a switch on the side which turned off the audio completely in case of a power cut as you have to press the audio off when the power is back on. It is quite loud and I don't want to upset the neighbours. I would prefer it if the intruder didn't know it was a security camera and just thought it was a light. The images it stores are good quality during the day and not bad at night although the light if pointed too far down seems to make the image a bit grainy. It is easy to view the images on PC with the usb reader but it is quite tricky to get the card out of the Guardcam. Tweezers would probably help. It does the job but it could be improved.

  Very easy to install and works quietly away in the background according to the operating mode you set. Reasonable quality video even after dark. I would have liked recorded audio, and for all the controls to have been behind a closed panel. Even so, I know of nothing else in the price range which comes close to the quality, ease of operation and, hopefully reliablility (Early days yet!) Later on I will probably need to buy another to cover a different area and I will make the same choice again. Also impressed with the speed of despatch - Thanks.

  It's a surprisingly well built product for the money. SD card comes with the unit so no extras to buy. If you have some electrical knowledge then it's pretty straight forward to install. Images are ok but more of a quality along the lines of early digital cameras.

  Had one of these for several months,as yet not caught intruders who have been coming into our rear garden for 8 years, they are switching the audio off,even though it is 8 feet above the garden.Audio button could do with being behind waterproof cover, similar to recording facilities. I need to build a box around it to prevent this occurring. Good pictures, looking to buy another one to cover another area of our small garden.

  Been in operation now for 3 weeks quality of images very good but quite a few ocassions the pir has triggered the camera for no reason or too late guess i need to make it more sensitive, other wise very good for the money and peace of mind.
