Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the water at mains pressure or not? Mains pressure
- Is the water heater unvented? Unvented
- What is supplied with every water heater? A pressure relief valve is supplied as standard. This valve opens if the water pressure is above 6 bar. This is a safety device for if the pressure gets too high.
- Can the temperature on the water heater be adjusted? Yes – from minimum to maximum on the outside of the water heater.
- Is there a safety cut out on the water heater and can it be re-set by the user? The safety cut-out is manually re-settable. Take the grey plate off the top of the unit – there is just one screw to take out. The thermal cut-out is a very small red button located in the centre of a white disc approximately 11/2” in diameter right in the centre of the unit.
- Can the electric water heater be located above the sink? The water heater can be installed more or less anywhere convenient, but it MUST be right way up, with the pipes still coming out of the top of the unit. Height is not relevant, because the heater works at mains pressure rather than gravity.
- What is the inner container made out of? Resin coated steel
- When do you need the SF1 kit? Please refer to the PDF installation instructions above.
- What is in the SF1 kit? A check (one way) valve and an expansion vessel.
- Can a check valve be fitted when an expansion vessel is not needed? Yes, as long as it is at least 2.8metres (10litre) or 4.2metres (15litre) away from the unit. It is not necessary to fit a check valve, although water bye-laws in some areas do require them.
- When do you need the SF2 kit? Please refer to the PDF installation instructions above.
- What is in the SF2 kit? A pressure reducing valve and an expansion vessel. A separate check valve is not required because the pressure reducing valve also acts as a one-way valve.
