Firex 230v Smoked Detectors With Battery Backup

The most popular models in the Firex range, these dual supply, 230v mains, interconnectable units come with a long life Energizer Alkaline battery providing a standby supply for up to 4 years.  Alternatively the L models come complete with a Lithium battery for 10 year battery backup or the 4881 comes with Lithium rechargeable batteries. A fresh battery will sustain the detector for approximately 6 years in AC power failure.

Up to 36 units may be interconnected (Using a hard wired extra core as a interlinking signal cable), with all units sounding when one unit detects a fire condition.  The alarm initiating the detection blinks a red LED every second while the red LED extinguishes on all the other interconnected units.

These Firex Smoke alarm are fully Kitemarked, complying with BS5446 pt 1 2000 and CE approved.

 ** Research has shown that the constant bleeping smoke alarm sound pattern can be absorbed subconsciously by children who may sometimes not wake up.  The new internationally recognised sound pattern provides 3 standby beeps followed by a one second pause follwed by 3 beeps.  This provides greater awareness of danger.

  Have been in current house some 10 years now, 3 of these fitted, all of which have now finally died, just before Xmas as well. Bought a cheap battery one as cover and ordered 1 of these in the meantime. Talk about a prompt response, said they were out of stock, Oh well I thought can't be helped I guess., wonder how long it will take. The next day was the answer. Anyway easy to fit, and worked straight away, tested it, not because we had a fire !

  I purchased the detector as a direct replacement for one installed in my house. This had not gone wrong but had been broken by a decorator.
