Inline extractor fans are mounted inside the ducting of your extractor system. These are often ditted inside the ceiling or attic of your home instead of being mounted within the room like a traditional extractor fan or bathroom extractor fan. The use of inline extractor fans is often in aid of noise reduction or to maintain functionality while improving the way that the room looks.

Some installations use one inline extractor fan to service more than one room. If you have an intake fitted to more than one room you're able to utilise junctions connections (for example Y junctions) to fit the ducting to the inline extractor fan. This will allow for a single extractor fan to control the air in more than one room. However, the main benefit of the inline extractor fan is that it is often fitted in the attic so that you can't hear the fan. Having the fan fitted within the ducting means that you won't hear it as much as you would with a surface-mounted extractor fan.

Powerful inline extractor fans

In addition to this, you'll notice that many inline extractor fans are more powerful than their surface-mounted counterparts. This is because they tend to be used for more than one room and can be a little noisier because they're further away from the room they're servicing. This can mean that while they are more powerful, they can be more efficient overall. Because you're only using one inline extractor as opposed to two or three ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted fans. You might find that this is more energy-efficient especially if your room struggles with the level of moisture.
